Capitol Dome Spotlight: Week 1 Orientation

As I wrap up my first week under the Capitol Dome, I want to share a few updates and reflections on this exciting new chapter. While the process of onboarding as a legislator is just beginning, I can confidently say that my team and I are ready to roll up our sleeves and get to work for Douglas County and the people of House District 45.

Unfortunately, the Democrat leadership has decided to delay the onboarding process until the Secretary of State officially certifies the recent election results. This means that I do not yet have an official office or phone number. We expect this process to be complete by mid-December, and I’ll share that information with you as soon as it becomes available. In the meantime, I’m staying busy and using this time to ensure that I hit the ground running once things are fully operational.

While the technicalities are being worked out, I’ve been building my legislative agenda by meeting with informed stakeholders and community organizations that represent the concerns of Douglas County. These conversations have been invaluable in identifying key priorities for our district, including issues like property taxes, public safety, education, and infrastructure. It’s clear that Douglas County is full of engaged, solution-oriented leaders, and I’m committed to amplifying your voices at the Capitol.

Every step of this process has reinforced my belief in the importance of communication and collaboration. My goal as your representative is to be both accessible and effective, working to address the challenges we face while staying connected to the people I serve.

Thank you for your patience as the onboarding process moves forward. My team and I are eager to serve, and we’re here to listen to your thoughts, concerns, and ideas. You can stay connected with updates like these through this newsletter and, soon, through our official office channels.

Together, we can make meaningful progress for Douglas County and the entire state of Colorado.

Warm Regards,
Representative-elect Max Brooks
Colorado House of Representatives | House District 45
